Book Launchings

Monday, January 30th, 2006

"Ubod ng Husay," this is what SH dubbed the launching of UBOD, Lasallian Writers last Jan. 12. Year of the Dog talaga, as in hinihingal ako sa dami ng inaasikaso. Iniisip ko na lang na bongga ito, and not all got the opportunity to the making of this vision. So go sa G4 to buy a new dress kasi di naman pwede, as in it would be graveh and over talaga if I wear a gown. I settled for a Japanese blouse since anyway, Memoirs of a Geisha is on the way and it perfectly suited me. So pikit-mata to the counter ang beauty and inisip na lang na investment :-)

It paid kasi i was complimented. Sana araw-araw may book-launching ako. Hehehe.

Then last Jan. 17, IRC launched his book on BNS and the two sisters came all the way from Bicol. So alalay ang beauty. The event went smoothly except for the bursting of the actor kasi di nasundo sa gate. Whoooooah. Lesson learned 1: don’t leave the South gate not until such VIPs arrive. Lesson 2: Forget blaming each other. Move on, move on.

Two Weddings & A Funeral

Jan.7, Kalibo, Aklan: I stood witness, for the first time, as veil sponsor, in a moss green gown. Haba ng nirampa ko sa cathedral. Nakaka-tense kasi tagal pag-pin. Nangalay ako. I fell in love with "The Wedding" and "Butterfly Kiss."

Jan. 14, Tagaytay City: Served as host, with Rod, at Badet’s wedding. It was a beautiful moment - being there for Badet & Mervin and seeing, after almost five years, some of Moraga’s Angels like Amy & Lissa.

Hosted Jenny & Ting at my unit and with them, went up for the first time as well at The Library & Blue Wave. It was great! Hilarious performances and tasty food. It must always be like that: with a driver. Hehehehe.

Jan. 29, Sunday: I was in a line at Shopwise when word reached me that Bro. Andrew Gonzalez, FSC. passed away. I thought of my mentors who were his students. His drive for excellence and love for service and passion for life will forever remain as an inspiration. I am a recepient of his intellect and vision and courage to execute reforms. I can only think of the Navajo Night Chant: "It is finished in beauty."
